Us
Hi there! We’re Sadie and Emily. Together, we have a total of over 10 years of career experience in the Travel industry as well as over 15 years of personal globetrotting under our belts.
We have traveled to Africa, South America, Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, and of course Costa Rica! Our love for visiting “off-the-beaten-path” locations is the spirit of Soul Life Travel.
We’re two women of color with deep familial roots in Costa Rica and the Caribbean. In these regions, irresponsible tourism creates an intensifying threat to local culture.
How it all began
One day after years of family, friends, and acquaintances asking for travel tips and planning advice, we realized that our knowledge, experience, and passion for helping our communities live their best travel dreams could go much further. Thus, Soul Life Travel was born!
Sadie
Sadie is a proud Afro-Costa Rican “Tica” with over 15 years of experience in the tourism industry. Since her first solo trip into the lush vegetation of Puerto Viejo, she fell in love.
After that, she spent as much time as she could discovering all the diverse regions of her mother’s ancestral homeland.
As her understanding of the country grew, she wanted to give access to underrepresented travelers like herself looking for similar unique experiences.
Thus, she founded Soul Life Travel to create culturally competent tours highlighting the Afro-Costa Rican spirit.
Emily
Emily’s first solo trip at age 20 and family vacations in Grenada to connect with her Afro-Caribbean roots inspired her career in travel.
With her over 7 years experience in the tourism industry, Emily has worked with hundreds of groups, from first-time flyers to experienced travelers, ensuring each detail is planned diligently to provide carefree travel and beautiful memories to last a lifetime!

Our exclusive itineraries in this region center Afro-Latinx heritage and culture.
